Note: A message will be displayed to consult the
service manual when attempting to recuperate Hard
Disks with one of its first four bad tracks. The tracks
(0-3) are essential to permit MS-DOS operations. Any
HDU which reports a bad track among its first four
tracks may not be recuperated and, therefore, must be
replaced. The error message displayed is as follows:

26. Verify that you have entered all data correctly. Correct any (*"1
mistakes by deleting and adding the changed data. ' ! '•
27. Select the FINISHING EDITING (PROCEED WITH n
FORMATTING) option by typing 0 followed by ! !
pressing Return. Wait for the HDU test menu to be
redisplayed. This will occur when all bad tracks are marked.
Any additional bad tracks present on HDU, but not noted on I
the HDU error map, will now be looked for and entered in the
bad track table.
28. Select the VERIFY SURFACE option by typing 5 followed by
pressing Return. This test will take about 12 minutes.

29. Select the FORMAT BAD TRACKS option by typing 15
followed by pressing Return. This will mark any bad tracks
found by the VERIFY SURFACE test.
