All Bailey caravans have been
certied by the National Caravan
Council for compliance with UK
and European standards and
legislation along with industry
codesofpracticerelatingtohealthandsafety
issues. The approval process covers the
testingandinspectionofcriticalareasofthe
product from re safety, weights and
dimensions, to gas, electrics and ventilation.
Every Bailey caravan carries the “NCC
ApprovedCaravan”badge.TheNCCconducts
unannounced inspections at their members’
factoriestoensurecontinuedcompliance.
NCC approval gives you peace of mind that
yourcaravanislegalandsafe.
YourBaileycaravanisEuropeanWholeVehicle
Typeapproved.
This assures you that your caravan meets
all European regulations and has been
constructed to conform to these rigorous
standardsforbothmanufacturingandproduct
safety.Thisallowsyoutoregisteryourvehicle
inanotherEuropeancountry.Yourcerticate
ofconformityisinthedocumentpackprovided
withyourvehicle.

themodelistypeapproved.Ifforanyreason
you need another certicate your Bailey
Caravan retailer is responsible for accessing
one through the NCC system. Please refer
backtoyourretailerforadditionalcopies.

•Yourtourerisacompactlivingenvironment,
and appliances should be treated in the
samewayasthoseinthehometoprevent
any accidental burning or scalding-keep
youngchildrenawayfromhotsurfaces.
•Your tourer is supplied with a EN1645
approvedcaravanstep. Always take care
when entering or exiting your tourer,
ensuringthat the stepissecurely located
andsafebeforeuse.Donotuseadamaged
orbrokenstep.
•The torque settingof the caravan’swheel
boltsshouldbecheckedaftertherst30
milesaftercollection ofthe caravan from
theretailer.Thereafter,wheelboltsshould
be checked before every journey. The
torque settings and tightening sequence
aredetailedonpage21ofthishandbook.
•Neverattempttoliftthetowhitchwithyour
hands when hitching the caravan to the
tow vehicle or atanyother time. Always
raiseorlowerthetowhitchbywindingthe
handleonthejockeywheel.
•Always ensure that the green button
locatedontheleadingedgeofthecoupling
headisraisedbeforetowing.
Driving Licences
A driver passing a test after 1 January 1997
isrestrictedtoacar/caravancombinationnot
exceeding 3,500kg (maximum laden weight,
andwherethemaximumloadedweightofthe
caravandoes not exceed the unladen weight
of the car. New drivers outside these rules
will need to take an additional driving test.
Existing drivers who passed a test before 1
January1997arenotaffected.
