frictionpads:
1. Check that the stabiliser is correctly
coupledbyensuringthecouplinghandle
isfullydownandtheredindicatorbutton
isintheraisedposition.
2. Push the stabiliser lever (g.5/item 1)
down until resistance is felt (i.e. the
frictionpadsareincontactwiththeball
butnotyetunderpressure).
3. Checkthe position ofthe arrowhead on
thearmofthestabiliser.Ifitlinesupwith
thetwogreenlinesthenthefrictionpads
arestillasnew(Fig.5/A)
Ifthearrowheadlinesupwiththetwo
redlinesthenthefrictionpadsare
wornandshouldbereplaced
immediately.
Whenthestabiliserleveriscorrectlyapplied,
the arrowhead should link up with the black
linemarked2(Fig5/C).
Thefriction pads do not require any formof
lubricationandshouldbecleanedwithane
emerypaperpriortoeveryjourney.Itisnot
necessarytoadjustthefrictionpads.
Manoeuvring Operation
For easier manoeuvring (on camp sites etc),
pullthestabiliserlevertothe“up”position.
Please do not use the stabiliser lever as a
manoeuvring handle. Please use the handles
onthecaravanorttheAL-KOmanoeuvring
handle to your jockey wheel (available
separately).
1. During opening or closing, the AKS must
onlybeoperatedbyoneperson.
2.Press the stabiliser lever down by hand
force only DO NOT use your foot or
an extension bar: this will damage the
components(Fig.6).
3.Whenopeningorclosingthestabiliserlever,
please ensure your hand does not touch
thecouplinghandle,youmayaccidentally
trapyourngers!(Fig.6.)

Noises while driving
Asarule,thefrictionpadsoftheAKS3004do
notmakeanoiseduringdriving.Anyclicking,
creaking or squeaking noises that do arise
maybeduetothefollowing:
a)Foreignbodiesordirtbetweenthefriction
padandtowball.
b)Dryoperationofthe draws-haftinside the
overrundevice.
c) A detachable towball which has too much
playinthelockingmechanism.
Remedial Action
a.Clean the towball and friction pads by
lightly rubbing the surface (100-120 grit
emerypaper).
