AlwaysreplacetheHTFinaccordancewiththe
antifreezeproduct’slifespan.Ifin anydoubt,
replacetheHTFafter2years.
FailuretomaintaintheconditionofHTFmay
resultinfrostand/orcorrosiondamage,andis
notcoveredunderwarranty.
Whenthehotwatercylinderisin continuous
use, it should be drained and relled once a
month. This recreates the air cushion in the
hot water cylinder that absorbs pressure
surges.
Winter
Whencampinginthewinter,alwaysensurethe
ue terminal remains unobstructed by snow
andice.Extensionsforroofueterminals,and
condensatespoutsforsideueterminalsare
availablefromAlde.
CheckthestrengthoftheHTF(heattransfer
uid)withahydrometerand/orrefractometer.
It should measure 50% ethylene glycol
antifreeze,or-35to37°C.
Thecentralheatingcanstillbe usedwithno
freshwater in the system. The air in the hot
water cylinder is heated but no damage can
result.

Alwaysdraindownandcompletely
emptythehotwatercylinderwhen
thereisriskoffrost,unlessthe
vehicleisexplicitlystatedtobe
self-winterisingbythevehicle
manufacturer.
If camping in temperatures below -10°C,
consider carrying spare parts in the event
of an emergency. Alde recommends a 12v
circulationpumpfortheexpansiontank(with
cabling),aPCB,and4–5litresofreadytouse
antifreeze.These spareparts should bekept
wellinsulatedandinthewarmestpartofthe
vehicle;forexample,inthewardrobe,nearto
theexpansiontankpipes.
Ifstoringthevehicleforwinter,ensuretheue
terminal is covered to prevent pest animals
nestingintheue.
Ifusingthelightduty12vcirculationpumpin
the expansion tank, do not leave the central
heatingonoverwinter,evenwithalowdesired
temperatureset.
