Refer to “Surface (mattress) and Bed Frame Compatibility” on page 125 for a list of surfaces and bed
frame function compatibilities.
Refer to “Surface (mattress) and Bed Frame Compatibility” on page 125 to identify the surface installed
on the bed.
For an air surface to operate correctly, there must be a minimum of 70 lb (32 kg) on the surface.
Loose fitting sheets (preferably knitted) must be used for correct operation of the surface.
For an air surface, use the P-Max Inflate mode to maximize the firmness of the surface to assist in patient
surface-to-surface transfers.
The Progressa+ surfaces are designed especially to work with the following system features:
• StayInPlace Patient Positioning
• SlideGuard Patient Position Mechanism
• FlexAfoot Retractable Foot Mechanism
• Chair Egress Patient Exit Position Mechanism

Linen Holders
Surface Handles
Some surface models are equipped with two handles on each side of the surface. Use the surface
handles if the surface needs removed from the bed.
PROGRESSA+ ESSENTIAL SURFACE
The Progressa+ Essential Surface is foam with non-powered air cylinders.
Some surface models are equipped with linen holders on the
bottom of the surface. Each corner has a strap to help retain flat
sheets.
To Install
1. Put the sheet through the linen holder.
2. Wrap the sheet over and back through the linen holder.
3. Repeat for each corner.
Make sure the sheet is not too tight as it may impact the pressure
redistribution performance.
