Weigh the Patient
Warning—Incorrect use of the scale can result in inaccurate patient weights, which could result in harm
to the patient.
Recommended Bed Position to Weigh a Patient
“Recommended Position” means the bed is not in the position that the scale was certified in during
manufacturing. You can weigh in the non-recommended position; however, non-recommended
positions may reduce accuracy and repeatability. The weight can be saved, but will be noted as a
non-verified weight.
8. Press:
– New Patient
• Erases Scale History (all previously recorded
patient weights will be erased)
• Zeroes the scale
• Returns the surface to Normal (CLP) mode
• Turns off all RemindMe reminders
or
– Zero
•Does not erase Scale History
• Zeroes the scale
9. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The recommended weigh patient position is as follows:
• Head angle (A) < 45°; lower head
• Foot angle (B) < 30° below horizontal; straighten legs section
• Trendelendburg/Reverse Trendelenburg (C) < 2°; level bed
If the bed is not in the recommended position to weigh the patient, press the Bed Flat control or press
knee, foot, and head on the caregiver siderail controls to adjust the bed to the required position.
