SN Item Requirements
higher security.
4 Private virtual local area
network (VLAN)
The patient monitor needs to use the private VLAN.
The VLAN minimizes broadcast or multicast data that may affect stability of the
patient monitor.
5 Bandwidth Totally 16 monitors connect to the AP and communicate with the central
station. A monitor can display data from other monitors, or data of a monitor
can be displayed on other monitors. Two monitors transmit historical data. The
required bandwidth is 6.14 Mbps.
Important settings
1 DHCP The DHCP server needs to reserve enough IP addresses to ensure that the
patient monitor can obtain the IP address.
2 IGMP snooping If the patient monitor adopts multicast, the IGMP snooping function is enabled.
3 Multicast If the patient monitor adopts multicast, the network multicast function should
be enabled.
4 Beacon and DTIM AP DTIM = 1, Beacon = 100 milliseconds
5 Service port Refer to the white paper of the Mindray patient monitor network. The patient
monitor requests network devices to open some TCP/UDP ports.
6 Qos It ensures that Mindray monitor data has the highest priority.
NOTE
After network acceptance, individuals cannot build APs without permission. Otherwise, the Wi-Fi channel
interference will increase.
If WPA2-PSK or WPA2-Enterprise is not used, N1 may not operate properly or patient information may
leaks out.
Timeout disconnection means functional failures of waveforms, parameters, patient information,
settings, and operating modes or data loss. It may be caused by strong spatial RF interference.
3.4 Network Acceptance
3.4.1 Tools and Resources
Laptop installed with Windows 7 or higher version and equipped with a wireless network card. A laptop equipped
with an Intel Centrino wireless adapter is recommended. If your laptop is equipped with another wireless adapter,
make sure that the adapter has high precision.
Wireless network survey tool: You are advised to use a professional survey tool, e.g., Tamograph or Wirelessmon.
Professional network engineer.
NOTE
The Wi-Fi network survey personnel should receive good training about Wi-Fi. If no professional network
engineer is available, ask for help from a third party.
