7 Hardware and Software Upgrade
7.1 Hardware Upgrade
The IBP hardware function upgrade is applicable only to the monitor with a non-12-lead ECG module and without the
CO
2
module. After the upgrade, the ECG algorithm configuration of the equipment remains unchanged.

7.1.2 Hardware Upgrade Method
7.1.2.1 IBP Function Upgrade
When upgrading the IBP function, replace the current parameter board, N1 interface board and 6660 mainboard
multifunction wire with the materials in the upgrade package. Follow this procedure:
1. Remove the parameter board, N1 interface board, and SpO
2
board of the parameter board following the
instructions in section 8.4 Disassembling the N1 Main Unit with Two Batteries
2. Install the removed SpO
2
board on the parameter board in the upgrade package.
3. Replace the original parameter board and N1 interface board with the N1 interface board and 6660 mainboard
multifunction wire in the upgrade package and the parameter board with the SpO
2
board installed in step 2.
4. Reassemble the monitor.
5. Start the monitor. Select Main Menu→Parameters→Parameter On/Off→P1/P2 to turn on the IBP switch. Then
restart the monitor to allow the configuration to take effect.
6. Test the upgraded monitor according to section 5.4 Module Performance Test.
7.1.2.2 Wi-Fi Module Upgrade
2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi modules supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n and a dual-band Wi-Fi antenna need to be added for
Wi-Fi module upgrade. Follow this procedure:
1. Separate the main board from the main frame according to section 8.3 Disassembling the N1 Main Unit with the
CO2 Module or section 8.4 Disassembling the N1 Main Unit with Two Batteries.
2. Remove the release paper from the dual-band Wi-Fi antenna in the upgrade package. Paste the Wi-Fi antenna in
the groove of the main frame as shown in the figure below. Then insert the Wi-Fi antenna through the wire hole on
the main frame. (During installation, do not tear or damage the antenna. Make sure that the antenna is free from
distortion after being pasted in the antenna groove.)
