SN Item Requirements Verification Method Check Result
than 50% of the AP capacity. For
example, the number of devices
normally connected to an AP is 16
in the coverage of the AP. Then the
nominal number of devices that
can be connected to the AP at the
same time must be greater than
32.
Multiple SSIDs can be created for
the AP.
Obtain the AP data manual according to the
model to confirm the AP-related capabilities.
2 Device density A maximum of 12 devices
(including the patient monitor and
other devices) can be connected
to one AP at the same time.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
WLAN characteristics
1 AP channel
width
Set the AP channel width to 20
MHz. Do not use HT40 or HT80.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
2 802.11 protocol The WLAN cannot use the
protocols not supported by the
Mindray patient monitor, e.g.,
802.11ac.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
3 Safe mode The WLAN cannot use safe modes
not supported by the Mindray
patient monitor.
You are advised to use WPA2-
Enterprise or WPA2-PSK. You are
advised to use a long password
and change it frequently.
If supported by the hospital
network, you can use WPA2-
Enterprise to achieve higher
security.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
4 Private virtual
local area
network
(VLAN)
The patient monitor needs to use
the private VLAN.
The VLAN minimizes broadcast or
multicast data that may affect
stability of the patient monitor.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
5 Bandwidth Totally 16 monitors connect to the
AP and communicate with the
central station. A monitor can
display data from other monitors,
or data of a monitor can be
displayed on other monitors. Two
monitors transmit historical data.
Check if this requirement is satisfied together with
the IT department of the hospital.
