5 Acquiring Images
Introduction
This chapter describes the acquisition procedure for configurations with and without the optional Scan & Go
device.
A typical workflow consists of the following steps:
• Selecting or “Creating a Patient Record” on page 52
• Accessing the imaging window, See “Starting the Imaging Software” on page 52
• Accessing the Image Acquisition Interface, See “Working with the Image Acquisition Interface” on
page 22
• Choosing the tooth to X-ray.
• Inserting the Imaging Plate into a hygienic sheath and sealing it, See “Inserting the Imaging Plate”
on page 53
• If working with Scan & Go, Tagging the imaging plate with the Scan & Go, See “Tagging the
Imaging Plate with the Scan & Go” on page 53
• Placing the imaging plate in the patient’s mouth behind the selected tooth or teeth, See “Performing
the X-rays” on page 54
• Exposing the imaging plate to X-ray, See “Performing the X-rays” on page 54
• Removing the imaging plate from the patient’s mouth, See “Performing the X-rays” on page 54
• Disinfecting the Hygienic Sheath, See “Disinfecting the Hygienic Sheath and the Imaging Plates”
on page 63
• Scanning the Imaging Plate, See “Scanning the Imaging Plates” on page 56
• If working without Scan & Go, Selecting the patient, See “Select the patient from the list. If the
required patient does not appear in the list, select the No ID option.” on page 57
• Reviewing the scanned image on the image Acquisition interface, See “Processing the Images.” on
page 59
• Storing the image in the Dental Imaging Software, See “Storing the Images” on page 60
Note: Using the Scan & Go option streamlines and shortens the scanning
process. The scanned image reaches its destination automatically; no need to
select the destination workstation when scanning the imaging plate. In FMS
mode, the image automatically populates its designated frame in the template.
