Step 1
Configures MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS TE) tunnel
interface and enters into MPLS TE tunnel interface
configuration mode.
interface tunnel-te interface-number
Example:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config)#interface tunnel-te

Step 2
Configures the initial delay interval before bringing up the
tunnel.
bfd dampening initial-wait milliseconds
Example:
Step 3
The initial-wait bring up delay time interval range is 1 to
518400000 milliseconds. Default initial-wait interval is
16000 milliseconds.
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-if)#bfd dampening
initial-wait 360000
This option brings up the TE tunnel with the
previous signaled bandwidth.
Note
Configures the maximum delay interval before bringing up
the tunnel.
bfd dampening maximum-wait milliseconds
Example:
Step 4
The maximum-wait bring up delay time interval range is 1
to 518400000 milliseconds. Default initial-wait interval is
600000 milliseconds.
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-if)#bfd dampening
maximum-wait 700000
This option brings up the TE tunnel with the
configured bandwidth.
Note
Configures the secondary delay interval before bringing up
the tunnel.
bfd dampening secondary-wait milliseconds
Example:
Step 5
The secondary-wait bring up delay time interval range is 1
to 518400000 milliseconds. Default secondary-wait interval
is 20000 milliseconds.
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-if)#bfd dampening
secondary-wait 30000
