2.1.3.7 Switch 4 - Oscillate Mode
Selection (Turbo Shaver
Handpieces Only - D9920 and
D9924)
NOTE: This description of the functionality
of this switch applies only to the Advantage
Turbo Handpieces, D9920 and D9924.
The position of this switch determines the mode
of operation, either fixed (5 turns) - or
adjustable (between 1 - 10 turns) multi-turn
oscillate mode, of the Advantage Turbo Shaver
Handpieces (D9920 and D9924).
1. To set the controller to fixed multi-turn
oscillate mode, place switch 4 to the “OFF”
position.
2. To set the controller to adjustable multi-turn
oscillate mode:, place switch 4 to the “ON”
position.
3. To adjust the number of turns;
(a) If a Turbo handpiece is connected,
remove it.
(b) Turn the console power off and connect
an MC5057 Universal Handpiece
Cable.
(c) Press and hold the cable button while
turning the console power back on.
When the console displays “Cal.
Requested” release the cable button.
(d) When prompted by the console, enter
the code 1 - 1 - 1. To enter a 1, press and
release the cable button once for each
digit of one.
(e) When completed, the console will
display “Oscillate 1 Turn” and the
number 1 will be flashing.
(f) Change the number of turns by pressing
and releasing the cable button until the
desired number of turns, between 1 and
10, is obtained.
(g) To exit the menu, take no action (do not
press the cable button). The console will
time-out and return to the normal
display.
(h) Remove the MC5057 Universal
Handpiece Cable and reconnect the
Turbo handpiece.
4. If using the Advantage 2-Button Turbo
Shaver Handpiece (D9924), oscillation
mode can be selected by pressing the
handpiece direction select button.
5. If using the Advantage Basic Turbo Shaver
Handpiece (D9920), a footswitch must be
used to access the oscillation mode and to
operate the handpiece.
6. To operate a Turbo handpiece
while using a 2-Pedal Footswitch
(5020-053), select the oscillation
mode by pressing the left footswitch pedal
[Reference “2.1.7 Footswitch Operation
(Advantage Top Portion Only, PowerPro
and E9000)” on page 55]. Then depress
the right pedal to activate the handpiece.
7. If using a 3-Pedal Footswitch (C9863),
press the center pedal.
8. If it is desired to adjust the number of turns
again, you must repeat steps 3(a) through
3(h).
