2.1.3.8 Switch 5 - Window Indexing
NOTES:
1. This switch applies to the E9000
controller and the top portion only of the
Advantage controller.
2. Window Indexing applies only to all
Group 3 handpieces and the E9005 High
Speed Shaver.
When “Window Indexing” is enabled with DIP
Switch 5 on the E9000 controller or the top
section of the Advantage controller, the
appropriate footswitch pedal, or handpiece
“ON/OFF” button is used to “index” or position
the blade cutting window so that it stops in the
same position each time the blade stops, i.e.,
where it starts is where it stops.
Window Indexing does not apply with burs.
1. To enable Window Indexing, place switch 5
of the E9000 controller or the top portion
only of the Advantage controller to the
ON” position.
NOTE: When Window Indexing is enabled
(DIP switch 5 set to “ON”) the footswitch
only operates in the ON/OFF mode with the
MC9840, C9840 and E9005 handpieces.
When using the MC9820, MC9828, C9820,
C9824, C9828 and D9820, D9824 handpieces,
this applies to shaver blades only. All other
handpieces will operate as selected by DIP
switch 2.
2. To set Window Indexing with the
handpiece:
(a) Press and hold the “On/Off” button. A
single beep will sound and the blade
will rotate slowly. When the cutting
window is located at the desired
position, release the button.
(b) Press and release the “On/Off” button
rapidly, the handpiece will run at the set
speed and stop at the set location.
3. To set Window Indexing with the
footswitch:
NOTE: Using the two pedal footswitch
(5020-053), Window Indexing can only be
achieved using the right pedal. Using the
three pedal footswitch (C9863), Window
Indexing can be set with either the left or
right pedal, but not the center pedal.
(a) Press the pedal slowly until you hear a
single beep, then maintain pedal
position. The blade will rotate slowly.
When the cutting window is located at
the desired position, release the pedal.
NOTE: Once the blade starts to rotate you
can fully depress the pedal if desired.
(b) Press the pedal rapidly. The handpiece
will run at the set speed and stop at the
set location.
4. To disable Window Indexing, place switch
5 of the E9000 controller or the top portion
only of the Advantage controller to the
OFF” position.
