CHAPTER 5 – ENCODER MODULE
1 INTRODUCTION
The Encoder Module is used on wheelchair with encoders fitted to the motors.
An encoder is a device that monitors the speed and direction of the wheelchair motors. The encoder converts information such
as position and direction of rotation of the motor into a digital signal which can be used by the R-net system to accurately
control the speed and direction of the wheelchair.
NOTE:
The Curtiss-Wright Encoder Module should only be used with 24V Encoders, with a current rating of 75mA per channel.
2 INSTALLATION
The Encoder Module can connect into the R-net serial bus at any convenient point.
