SNMP
Path: Maintenance > Management > SNMP
SNMP is an additional management tool that is useful when multiple routers in a network are being managed by
a central Master system. When an external SNMP manager is provided with this routerās Management Information
Base (MIB) īle, the manager can update the routerās hierarchal variables to view or update conīguration
parameters. The router as a managed device has an SNMP agent that allows the MIB conīguration variables
to be accessed by the Master (the SNMP manager). The Access Control List on the router identiīes managers
in the network that have read-only or read-write SNMP credentials. The Traps List outlines the port over which
notiīcations from this router are provided to the SNMP community (managers) and also the SNMP version (v1,
v2c, v3) for the trap.
