2.4 SAS direct-attach planning
The Storwize V5000 Gen2 allows SAS host attachment by using an optional SAS card that
must be installed in both node canisters. In addition, the Storwize V5020 has two onboard
SAS ports for host attachment. The SAS expansion ports cannot be used for host
attachment. Figure 2-7, Figure 2-8, and Figure 2-9 show the SAS ports that can be used for
host attachment in yellow for each Storwize V5000 Gen2 model.
