Battery Management System (BMS) Menu
For further information about the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery, activate the menu of the BMS.
For activating the menu it makes no difference if the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery is connected to
the power supply unit (in charge) or not.
To activate the menu:
Push/hold down the button (> 2 sec). The activation of the menu is shown when the first
LED (no. 1, red) is blinking, indicating that the first menu option can be activated by
another long push on the button (> 2 sec).
Every further short/brief push (< 2 sec) on the button navigates to the next menu option
which can be activated by another long push on the button (> 2 sec), indicated by the
blinking of the respective LED.
If there is no user input, the LED menu is closed after 33 sec.
The five menu options are the following:
Menu Option 1: Charging State
When LED 1 is blinking, menu option 1 can be activated.
When activated, the LEDs show the state of charge of the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery. After
showing the state of charge of the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery for 8 seconds the menu is closed
automatically (all LEDs off).
Menu Option 2: Storage Mode
When LED 2 is blinking, menu option 2 can be activated.
When the button is pushed/held down for more than 2 secs, the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery
Storage Mode is activated. When this mode is activated all but one LEDs are on.
The off-LED moves from right to left.
In the Storage Mode, the BMS automatically balances the Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery down to
3.8V / Cell (= 15.2 V per battery).
The Intel
®
Powerpack™ Battery Storage Mode can be deactivated by pushing the battery button
for more than 2 secs.
CAUTION: THIS MODE IS RECOMMENDED IF THE INTEL® POWERPACK™ BATTERY WILL BE
STORED FOR TWO DAYS OR LONGER.
