Camera recording settings 
The camera recording settings allow you to define the configuration per camera per 
stream recording mode. 
To configure recording settings: 
1.  From the menu toolbar, click Camera Setup > Camera Recording Settings. 
 
2.  Select the camera you want to configure. 
3.  Configure the following recording settings (options available depend on the camera 
model): 
•  Stream Record Mode: Select one of the stream types to configure the recording 
parameters of that record mode: Mainstream (TL-Hi) (default), Mainstream (TL-
Lo), Mainstream (Event), Mainstream (Alarm), or Substream. 
•  Stream Type: Select the type of stream to record, either Video or Video & Audio. 
Default is Video. 
•  Resolution: Select the resolution of the recording. Options include (depending 
on the camera): 8 MPX, 6 MPX, 5 MPX, 4 MPX, QXGA (3 MPX), 1080P, UXGA 
(2 MPX), SXGA, 960P (1.3 MPX), HD720P, SVGA, D1, 4CIF, VGA, DCIF, 2CIF, 
CIF or QCIF.  
•  Bitrate Type: Select Variable (default) or Constant. If “Variable” is selected, the 
bandwidth can vary depending on video quality and the bandwidth required. If 
“Constant” is selected the video streaming is always at the maximum bit rate 
selected. 
•  Video Quality: Select the quality at which to record. If “Constant” is selected as 
the bit rate type, this option is unavailable.
