Description of the service functions
Operating and Programming 69
6.3 Plug&Play semi-automatic
1. Put the device to be configured in semi-automatic mode:
➢ Select Function 7 (LED „Sensor 1“ + „I/O 1“)
➢ Select Function 3 (LED „RD 3“)
After the LED “RD 1” lights up, the MultiControl is ready to receive configurations.
This mode has no time limit. It may be cancelled only by re-starting the MultiControl.
Always prepare only one MultiControl for reception! Otherwise all the prepared
units will get the same configuration.
2. Put the upstream or downstream device into semi-automatic in the same way (if one
MultiControl is missing multiple neighbours, make sure that Upstream has the highest
priority and Transfer 4 the lowest).
➢ Select Function 7 (LED „Sensor 1“ + „I/O 1“)
➢ Select Function 3 (LED „RD 3“)
This MultiControl sends the configurations to the device that expects the configurations. It
is possible to send the data several times in succession if the sending / receiving of the
data did not work the first time. After two reboots, the new device is configured and
ready for use.
Learning a new MultiControl only works via the Up- or Downstream MultiControl.
Plug&Play is not possible for a transfer partner.
Restore all other unconfigured MultiControl in the same way.
Plug & Play does not work if the IP address is not from the static address assignment.
If an error occurs during Plug&Play, LED “I/O 3” lights up in addition to the flashing
LED “Sensor 1, I/O 1, I/O 2, and Sensor 2”.
To acknowledge the error, use the magnetic key to select function 7 (LED
„Sensor 1“ and „I/O 1“) and function 4 (LED „RD 4“).
Then carry out a factory reset via function 6 (LED „I/O 2“ and Function 6 „LED „I/O
4“).
