Gigabit LAN wiring should use Category 5e or 6 Unshielded Twisted Pair (CAT 5e or 6 UTP)
cable. No single run of LAN cable should exceed 100 meters (about 330 feet).
The pin assignment of RJ-45 connector is given in the chart below and shown in Figure 6.1.6-2.
