and 24-station configuration, the System would require 30 Ethernet switch ports (UCP = 1 port,
LGCM8 = 1 port, ES8GP = 3 ports, LIP Phones = 24 ports, and router = 1 port), and would be
structured as in the following Figure 6.1.7-1.

Cascading
When the station loop limit is beyond the 100-meter (330 feet) limit, switches may be cascaded to
extend the range. For the ES8G/ES8GP, simply connect the extension switches with their
UPLINK port to a LAN port of the previous ES8G/ES8GP in the cascade.
CAUTION
Do not create a loop when connecting these switches to each other or other network
components.
