CAUTION
Use extreme care when
removing the burner system.
Make sure the weight of the

2. Take the weight of the cylinder off the
cam follower bearing by jacking up the
ironing cylinder 1/8". Install two wooden
wedges between the cam follower bear-

WARNING
Use extreme care when
raising the ironing cylinder. It
is extremely heavy and can
cause serious personal
injury or damage to the unit
if dropped.
3. Remove the cam follower bearings by un-
screwing the bolts located on the inside of
the left end frame.
4. Use a punch to drive out all roll pins.
5. If possible, use a suitable punch to drive
off the old hardened ring (Figure 7-30).
Depending on the condition of the ring, it
may have to be cut off instead.
CAUTION
Be careful not to damage the
surface of the trunnion when
you remove the old ring.
6. Clean any rust or scale from the surface
of the trunnion and lightly oil the trunnion.
7. Drive on the new hardened ring using a
block of hard wood as a cushion to pre-
vent damage. Do not strike the new ring
directly with a hammer. Drive on four al-
ternating points to avoid cocking or jam-
ming the ring.
CAUTION
Do not heat the
hardened ring to make it
easier to install.
8. Drill new holes for the roll pins through
the holes in the hardened wear ring and
into the trunnion.
9. Install new roll pins.
10. Install the cam follower bearings.
