Clean Touchless Temperature
Sensors and UV Flame Scanners
1. Turn the power OFF at the main discon-
nect switch.
2. Remove both end frame doors.
3. Loosen the clamps and remove each
touchless temperature sensor (Figure
4-16 and 4-17, A) from its holding tube.
Each end frame contains a temperature
control sensor and a high limit sensor.
CAUTION
Be careful when removing
the sensors from the
housing. Do not twist the
wires in the housing.
4. Unscrew each UV flame scanner
(Figure 4-16 and 4-17, B) from its holding
tube.
Perform only when the unit is OFF
(with power disconnected) and COOL.
Required Tools
slotted screwdriver, soft cleaning cloth,
vacuum cleaner, compressed air

5. Check for lint and dirt in the holding tubes
for the temperature sensors and UV flame
scanners.
6. When necessary, clean out each holding
tube with a vacuum or compressed air.
7. When necessary, clean each touchless
temperature sensor with a soft cloth.
8. Clean dust and lint from the lens on each
UV flame scanner with a soft, damp cloth.
CAUTION
Do not touch sensor or
scanner lens with your
fingers. Damage may occur.
9. Install the temperature sensors in their
tubes and tighten the clamps.
10. Screw the UV flame scanners into their
holding tubes.
11. Close and secure the end frame doors.
