Repair GL16
7-38
Burner Removal
NOTE: Before beginning this
procedure, go back to the
TROUBLESHOOTING chapter
and review the Issue, Possible
Cause, and Solution listing.
When the ironing section does not heat up
properly, this may be caused by a lint build up.
The entire gas burner must be removed to
completely clean the gas burner system.
If there is sufficient clearance to the right of
the unit, a 48" (1220 mm) or longer length of 1"
pipe will greatly aid in performing this procedure.
NOTE: Read this entire
procedure before beginning work.
1. Set the TEMPERATURE CONTROL to
zero and turn the GAS switch to OFF.
2. Press a red STOP button. Turn the power
OFF at the main disconnect switch.
3. Turn off the gas supply to the unit.
4. Disconnect the heat shield from burner.
For more information within this section,
go back to the
Heat Shield Detachment
from Burner Assembly procedure.
5. Remove the touchless temperature sen-
sor. For more information within this sec-
tion, proceed to the
Touchless Tempera-
ture Sensor Replacement procedure.
Perform only when the unit is OFF
(with power disconnected) and COOL.
