DDM-2000 OC-3 MULTIPLEXER
Check –48 V DC Office Battery
1. Obtain multimeter capable of measuring DC voltage in the 40 to 60 volt range.

WARNING:
–48 V DC is present in the fuse holders and the P1 and P2 power
connections at rear of User Panel.
!
CAUTION:
If system is in service, service interruption will occur if both fuses are
removed or both power feeders are disconnected while in service.
Are fuses installed in User Panel?
If YES, then continue with Step 3.
If NO, then proceed to Step 4.
3. Remove ONE of the –48 V fuses at the top of the User Panel.

CAUTION:
Exercise care not to short meter probe across fuse contacts in fuse
holder.
Use multimeter to measure DC voltage at front of fuse holder(s). Place
negative probe on top fuse contact (G3 or G4 shelves) and the other probe to
a solid chassis ground.
Requirement: Voltage must be between –40.00 V and –60.0 V DC
5. Was requirement met?
If YES, then proceed to Step 8.
If NO, then continue with Step 6.
6. Trouble in User Panel, power feeder(s), or office battery distribution. Refer
trouble to organization that installed the shelf.
7. STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
