Replace Existing OLIU With Different Type OLIU
1.
!
WARNING:
Open optical connectors may emit invisible laser radiation. Do not view
beam with optical instruments. Avoid direct exposure to the beam.
!
WARNING:
Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than
those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
!
CAUTION:
Circuit packs must not be installed or replaced if the
SYSCTL
is not
installed and operating normally. If the
SYSCTL
is not installed and
operating normally, unpredictable provisioning of the replaced/installed
circuit pack can result.
!
CAUTION:
Ensure that protection switching is available (
OLIU
installed in slot
2(P)
,
protection line good, and no locks, inhibits, or forced switches in effect).
!
CAUTION:
Before installing
OLIU
s, ensure all optical fiber connectors and couplings
have been properly cleaned
[DLP-527]
. Signal performance may be
degraded if the connectors and couplings are not cleaned properly.
!
CAUTION:
Ensure that necessary optical power levels will be met with different type
of
OLIU
installed. Use optical line power measurements and check
OLIU
output specifications.
NOTE:
ItmaybeusedtoreplaceexistingOLIUs with 22D-U OLIUs to provide a
cost effective interconnect for intraoffice applications such as OC-3
optical extensions from an OC-12 shelf.
NOTE:
22D-U OLIUs, 22F/22F-U/22F2-U OLIUs,
22G-U/22G2-U/22G3-U/22G4-U OLIUs, 26G2-U/27G-U/27G2-U OLIUs,
and 24G-U/24H-U OLIUs are supported by TARP Release 13. TARP
Release 15 supports all the OLIUs that are supported by Release 13,
plus the 29G-U/29H-U OLIUs.
