NOTE:
If this procedure is being used to replace OLIUswith22D-U OLIUs, note
that the 22D-U OLIU uses only multimode optical fiber connections.
If new software is required to support the OLIU being installed, download the
required new software to the system.

NOTE:
When available, use a CIT and the
switch-line:address:pri=manual (linear extension) or
switch-path-(sts1/vt1):address:pri=manual (rings)
command to do a protection switch. The line protection switching request
is unidirectional. It may be necessary to perform a switch command at
both the near end and far end to switch both transmit and receive to the
same line.
Is a CIT available?
If YES, then continue with Step 3.
If NO, then proceed to Step 5.

NOTE:
The rtrv-state-eqpt: command may be used to verify that only the
protection line is active. In the Equipment State Report,theSwitch
State should show active only for the protection OLIU. Also, the green
ACTIVE LEDs should be lighted only on protection OLIUsinslot2(P).
Use the switch-line: or switch-path: command to switch service to
protection slot 2(P), if not already performed.
4. Use the rtrv-state-eqpt: command to ensure that service is switched to
protection slot 2(P).
5. Disconnect optical fiber from OLIU in service slot 1 of MAIN or FUNCTION
UNITS slots being equipped.
6. Remove service OLIU from slot 1.

NOTE:
The optical connector labeled OUT is the output from the OLIU.The
connector labeled IN is the input to the OLIU.
