4.2.18. Communication selection
In order for your plotter to be able to communicate well with your host computer, the communication settings
on both machines have to match exactly. Please refer to the manual of your software to determine which
communication setting will be used by your software. Your cutter can be set up to use any settings
necessary.
In the factory, several commonly used settings have been pre-installed. For your convenience, however, we
have included the possibility to alter any of the settings when necessary.
To change the communication selection, please follow the instructions mentioned below.
Step 1 : In the general setting select “Communication” with the [UP] or [DOWN] key
Step 2 : Press the [ENTER] key to confirm your selection. The next menu will appear.
Baudrate
DataBits
Parity
StopBits
Other items in this menu are :
FlowControl
USB/RS232
Step 3 : By pressing the [UP] or [DOWN] key select the appropriate menu to be changed.
Step 4 : Press the [ENTER] key to confirm your selection.
Step 5 : By pressing the [UP] or [DOWN] key select the appropriate value for the selected menu.
Step 6 : Press the [ENTER] key to confirm the selection and go back to the menu selection.
Notes
To cancel the changes of the parameter, press the [CANCEL] key. The display will show the previous
value for the parameter.
When you press the [EXIT] key the changed value will be ignored and you go back to the previous menu.
Step 7 : Press the [ENTER] key to go back to the previous menu.
Values that can be changes under Communication are:
Bold = default values
BAUDRATE :
9600
DATABITS : 7 or 8 bits
PARITY : None, even or odd
STOPBITS : 0, 1 or 2 bits
FLOWCONTROL : Softw or Hardw
USB/RS232 : AUTO, USB or RS232
