Check for marks or scratches on all surfaces of the
stem and check the condition of the chroming.
Measure the length of the spring and compare
with the following values:
- F4 S / FT / R / F4 MY13: 260 mm
Manually widen the upper bush and extract it.
Remove the lower bush, the washer, the oil seal, the
stop ring and the anti-dust seal (see figure).
Extract the fork leg with repeated jerks at the end of its
travel.
Fork assembly check
(F4 S - F4 FT - F4 R - F4 MY13)
Check that the sleeve does not have marks on the
external part that could have repercussions inside the
assembly. Ensure that the inside is completely smooth,
without any scratches.
If necessary, substitute with a new part.
