Description This command creates a text description for a configuration context to help identify the
content in the configuration file.
The no form of this command removes any description string from the context. For the serial
context, the no form of this command restores the default value.
Default “DS0GRP” (for the serial context and the voice context)
“Discrete Digital Input” for digital input (for Auxiliary Alarm card or chassis alarm inputs),
“Analog Input” for analog input, and “Digital Output Relay” for output (for Auxiliary Alarm card)

Parameters description-string — description character string. Allowed values are any string up to 80
or 160 characters long (depending on the command) composed of printable, 7-bit
ASCII characters. If the string contains special characters (#, $, spaces, etc.), the
entire string must be enclosed within double quotes.
