3 General safety instructions
The unit is designed to be safe and will not present any danger if used in a correct and proper way. These
instructions describe how to use the unit correctly.

Your unit must be installed by your RATIONAL Service Partner or qualified installer.

Your unit must be maintained by your RATIONAL Service Partner.
n
Do not modify the unit or the unit installation undertaken by your RATIONAL Service Partner.
n
Do not use the cooking system if it is damaged or if the connection cable is damaged. A damaged unit is not
safe and can cause injury or fire.
n
Do not place any objects on the unit.
Do not place hot containers or containers with hot liquids on the cooking system.
n
Do not stand on the protruding parts of the stand.
n
Do not climb onto the unit.
n
Do not store any flammable or combustible substances near the unit.
n
Only use the unit at an ambient temperature of +10 °C to +40 °C.
Safety instructions before use
n
Make sure the unit is at a temperature of at least + 5°C.
n
If the unit is used again after a long period of downtime, rinse the hand shower and the automatic water refill
with at least 10 litres of water.
Safety instructions during use
n
Do not exceed the minimum and maximum fill levels [}17] in the pan.
n
Do not exceed the minimum and maximum permissible load quantities [}18] for the pan. The maximum
permissible load quantities vary depending on the food and cooking path.
n
This will prevent material damage, injury or fatal accidents:
– Immediately clean up any food product that has spilled onto the floor when tilting the pan. Ensure the
surrounding floor area remains dry to prevent injuries from slipping.
– Carefully close the pan lid and make sure that you do not crush your fingers or those of other persons.
– Carefully lower the pan and make sure there are no people or objects within the pan's swivel range as it
moves.
– Do not place objects on the control panel. The tilt function of the unit could be triggered by placing
objects on the control panel. There is a risk of crushing if the pan is lowered and persons or objects are
within the pan’s swivel range.
– Do not place objects on the control panel. The tilt function of the unit could be triggered by placing
objects on the control panel. You could burn yourself if you touch hot overflowing food.
– Do not cook with highly flammable liquids such as alcoholic drinks in the unit. Highly flammable liquids
can self-ignite when cooking.
– Swiftly stir any salt into the boiling water. This prevents corrosion of the pan.

This will prevent scalding and burns:
– Wear personal protectiveequipment when you are boiling, frying or deep-frying food products.
– Wear personal protectiveequipment if you are removing accessories or objects from the hot pan.
– Open the pan lid carefully during use. Hot steam may escape.
– Do not fill the preheated pan with cold water.
– Tilt the pan slowly and carefully when full. Jerky movements may cause hot food to spill out.
– Only touch the unit on the control panel and the handle on the pan lid when in operation. The outer
surfaces can reach temperatures of over 60°C.
