1. Lug end of crankcase
2. Align mark and lug end here
– Find manufacturer’s mark on armature plate. In
line with this mark, punch another mark on ad-
jacent crankcase lug.

2. Punch a mark on crankcase lug aligned with plate mark
The new mark on crankcase will be used for fur-
ther assembly positioning as a pre-timing posi-
tion.

1, Magneto Housing Cover
Loosen screws
no. 2.
Remove engine magneto
cover.
4,5, Rotor and Flywheel
Remove starter. Refer to ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
07-04.
Lock ring gear using special tool.
1. Ring gear blocking tool (P/N 295 000 134)
2. Retaining plate (P/N 295 000 154)
