CONFIGURABLE FUNCTIONS
 Close SOPAS ET and connect the Bulkscan to the BAM100 analog module with the
Ethernet connecting cable, see accessories (see "12.2 Accessories“ on page 77).
An RJ45 female connector is provided on the BAM100 module for this purpose (see
electrical installation).
4.15 Data interfaces
TheBulkscanhasdifferentdatainterfacesforthecongurationandthetransmission
of measured values.
It is only possible to output all measured values of a scan in real-time using the Ether-
net interface.
4.15.1 Ethernet interface
The Ethernet interface has a data transmission rate of 10/100 Mbit/s. The interface is
a TCP/IP interface supporting full duplex and half duplex.
TheEthernetinterfaceallowsthecongurationoftheBulkscanaswellastheoutputof
measured values.
TheEthernetinterfaceisconguredforDHCPasfactorysetting(automaticdetectionof
theDHCPserverandretrievaloftheIPconguration).
IfyournetworkusesstaticIPaddresses,thenyoumustadapttheconguration¬ofthe
Ethernet interface so that a connected PC (client) can communicate with the Bulkscan
viaEthernet.IfyouareunsureaboutthecorrectEthernetconguration,pleasecontact
your network administrator.

If you change the parameters for the interface via which you are connected to the sen-
sor, the connection to the sensor will be lost. You must re-establish the connection (see
"7.1.2 Establishing communication with the Bulkscan“ on page 50).
To connect the electrical interface, (see "6.2.3 Ethernet interface connection“ on page
40).
4.15.2 Serial host interface
The Serial host interface is an RS-232/RS-422 interface. The host interface permits the
congurationoftheBulkscanandlimitedoutputofmeasuredvalues.
Theinterfaceparametersarefreelycongurable.

The factory setting for the host interface is as follows:
• 57,600 baud
• 8 data bits
• 1 stop bit
• No parity bit
The data transmission rate of the RS-232/RS-422 interfaces is limited to 57,600 baud.
Therefore these interfaces are not suitable for transmitting scan data in real time.
