Maintenance
In case of the Bundle with aluminum housing, the included SIMATIC CFU may be replaced.
Functional checks shall be carried out in accordance with EN 60079-17.
The SIMATIC CFU must be sent to the manufacturing location for repairs. Repairs may only
be carried out there.
Installation location in Zone 2/22 hazardous areas

Always adhere to the installation regulations in accordance with EN 60079-14 and any
regulations specific to your country.

Explosion hazard
In some cases, ignitable sparks or unacceptable surface temperatures may be generated
during connection.
Never perform mounting under explosive conditions!
Use a non-magnetic screwdriver when connecting the cables!
WARNING
Risk for intrinsic safety
When a connector is mixed up on the SIMATIC CFU PA (e.g. PROFINET cable is mixed up
with PA spur lines), or if the cable is connected incorrectly to the PA field devices, intrinsic
safety is at risk:
Only connect Ex i circuits (intrinsically-safe PA field devices) to the spur lines!
Check the wiring to the PA field devices.
Installing the housing
In order to operate the equipment, you must ensure that the assembly work is carried out
correctly.
You can find information on this in section "Installing the CFU (Page 50)".
Before connecting them, the cables must be stripped over the entire length specified in the
manual.
When fastening the screws and cable glands, observe the required tightening torques; see
section "Tools and tightening torques (Page 186)".
