In addition the batch status list is displayed in the batch window (see
Page 5-7) and batch control asks:
Should automatic operation of the batches be started?
If you reply in the affirmative, the batch status list will be executed – in other
words, the batches are started in the starting mode ’Automatic’ once all
requirements have been satisfied (see Page 5-18). If you reply in the
negative, you as operator will decide on the sequence in which the batches
are executed since the batch is opened either by selection followed by ’Open
object’ or by double-clicking on the batch; it can then be executed by
pressing the ’Start’ button (see. Page 5-12). You can also activate later the
execution of all batches by selecting the ’Automatic’ starting mode in the
’Controller’ menu.
The user interface of batch control is mostly the same as that of the recipe
editor but with a few changes on the menu and tool bars.
With ’Exit’ you can close all windows and close the application. If a window
for displaying the control recipe of a batch is open, you can close it with the
menu item ’Close’.
With the ’Edit’ menu, you can cancel selected batches, for example, or open,
block and chain them, or set the starting mode, or select all batches or, via
’Select’, only the finished, aborted or canceled batches.
With this menu, you can insert an AF, transition, AND/OR branch, loop or
substructure in order to change the topology of the control recipe.
With this menu you can start the controller of the selected batch, or pause,
resume or abort it. You can however also ’start or stop execution’ in its
entirety. This start will also apply to batches which have the starting mode
’automatic’. Other functions include changing with subsequent retention of
the changes (’save’), and set or removing run markers.
This menu is concerned with basic functions connected with the tool bar and
status bar (displaying or masking out), with adding additional columns to the
batch status list for a production order or recipe, with activating or resetting
filter properties, or with updating the displayed batch status list. Once a batch
has been ’opened’, the menu contents change as described above in
Chapter 4.3.1.
The ’Tools’ menu is concerned with the preferences in the SFC
representation of the batches as regards area, zoom, colors and font (as
described above on Page 4-13 for the recipes).
