Under certain circumstances, for exam
ple the billing address, this might not
be desirable: the city should be set a
little bit apart fr
om the r
est of the ad
dress. To do this, simply click on the
"City" field and enter a distance of 10
pixels. This distance is taken into ac
count when the object is printed.
In lists this is the distance between the
lines. With this setting you can sepa
rate the items in the list fr
om each
other.
Shadow Distance
Each object is surrounded by an invis
ible rectangle, which defines its size.
This rectangle can become visible via
the background color or a frame. You
can also assign it a shadow (below and
to the right). You define the distance
from the object to the shadow in pixels.
A value of 0 does not create a shadow.
Alignment in parent object
When a report is printed, dynamic ob
jects are usually pushed as far up as
possible, depending on the size of the
objects above them. However, in cer
tain cases its desirable to place an ob
ject in the middle or at the bottom.
In this invoice, the price should have a
position at the lower right corner.
Figure 14: Positioning in the Parent Object
It is impossible predefine the position
of this text in the report layout because
the length of the list is dynamic. How
ever, you can position an object inside
the parent object, either at the top (de
fault), in the middle, or at the bottom.
This creates the desired ef
fect that the
"Price" field is positioned at the bot
tom of the par
ent object.
