12.3.4 EXECUTING A PROGRAM
To execute a Learnt program from the front panel, press the PROGRAM EXECUTE key.
The Display will show:
EXECUTE PROGRAM ( )
Key in the required program number between the round brackets and press ENTER; the
program will he run.
If an external device is being used, sending the command
EPn
causes the nth program to be executed.
Whilst a program is running, no remote commands or front panel controls should be
used, except during a programmed 'PAUSE' when PAUSE/CONTINUE may be used to
continue the program.
BREAK halts the program and transfers control back to the front panel or remote device.
Note: If a copied program is to execute itself (via an EP 'n' instruction) the user must
remember to change the 'n' to the "Copy To" program number in the copied program.
e.g. Assume the last command in program 1 was EP1 (Execute program 1). If program
1 is then copied to program 2, the EP 1 command at the end of program 2 should be
changed to EP 2 to ensure that program 2 can execute itself.
12.3.5 EDITING A PROGRAM: FROM THE FRONT PANEL
From the 1250 front panel, program lines may be displayed singly, completely deleted,
or new lines inserted. Editing is also possible via a peripheral device connected to the
GPIB or RS423 ports.
To edit from the front panel;
1. Press PROGRAM LEARN
2. Key in the program number in the round brackets, e.g.1
3. SELECT and ENTER: PROGRAM (1)[edit]
4. With program 1 chosen to be edited, the Display will resemble;
PROGRAM 1 edit mode 00 FR + 1.0000E + 02
with five soft keys.
The top line of the display shows the program number and the selected mode. A line
other than 00 cannot be input when editing or programming from the front panel, but if
an external device has been used for programming a program line number may appear
here. The final entry, " FR + 1.0000E + 02 " represents a Generator Frequency of
100Hz which has been programmed.
The five soft keys act as follows:
INSERT: allows any number of extra lines to be inserted prior to the one currently
displayed.
When INSERT is pressed the Display becomes:
PROGRAM 1 insert mode
