10.1 THE FUNCTION KEY
10.1.1 INTRODUCTION
The FUNCTION key enables the result of a measurement to be processed in a variety
of ways, before it appears as a reading:
1. The user may choose from several angle conventions, based on degrees or radians.
2. As the measured values are sinusoidal, they can be integrated or differentiated by
multiplying by (jω)

, where n = ± 1 or ± 2.
3. The measured values can be scaled by suitable factors.
4. The measured values can be checked against high and low limits.
All the available functions are summarised in Section 1.6.
The File. If the measured results are stored in the File, as described in Chapter 12,
they can be processed prior to storing, then replayed from the File with a second set of
Limits applied, as indicated in the Data Flow schernatic of Section 2.
