To connect the oxygen cylinder:
Install the oxygen cylinder inside support frame and secure it in
place.
Connect the pressure regulator.
Connect the O
2
hose to the O
2
input on the left side of the EVE
TR
(see chapter 3.3).
Slowly open the valve and then slowly release it completely.
5.1.2 Sample calculation: O
2
oxygen consumption
The oxygen in the pressurized gas cylinder is highly pressurized. Due to
the pressure, the volume in the cylinder is significantly reduced. The
oxygen content of a pressurized gas cylinder (O
2
content) is calculated by
multiplying the oxygen cylinder pressure (P
cyl
) with the oxygen cylinder
volume (V
cyl
).
For EVE
TR
, the basic flow for the adult and pediatric range is at 2 l/min,
and at 3 l/min for the Neo range. It is active only during expiration and
when the inspiration plateau phase has been reached.
This results in the following consumption:
P
cyl
= 200 bar
V
cyl
= 10 liters:
The cylinder contains 2000 l of oxygen.
Tidal volume VT = 500 ml
Respiratory rate f = 12 1/m
Tinsp = 1.9 s
TRamp = 1.9 s
Basic flow at 95% oxygen = 2 l/min
The minute volume is calculated by multiplying the tidal volume with the
respiratory rate:
