6.8 Mode Settings
When selecting the suitable ventilation mode, the indications and contraindications in
particular must be observed (see chapter 1.5).
Disconnection alarm is activated in all non-invasive ventilation forms only if the tube
system is disconnected from the device. If the patient interface is disconnected (prong,
mask) or has a leakage, the disconnection alarm will not be triggered.
For safety reasons, the volume-controlled ventilation modes cannot be selected in the
mode for preterm infants and newborns.
Volume alarms are not active during non-invasive ventilation methods.
The "Mode Settings" menu first lets the user decide between invasive or
non-invasive ventilation.
