FRONT AND REAR BRAKES 17-14
FRONT MASTER CYLINDER REASSEMBLY
AND INSTALLATION
Reassemble and install the master cylinder in the reverse order
of removal and disassembly. Pay attention to the following
points:
• Install the brake lever. ($17-17)
NOTE:
When remounting the master cylinder onto the handlebar, align
the master cylinder holder’s mating surface

A with the matching
mark

B on the handlebar and tighten the lower bolt

1 first.
• Tighten the master cylinder holder bolts (

1,

2) to the speci-
fied torque.
# Master cylinder holder bolt :
(Lower

1): 12 N·m (1.2 kgf-m, 8.5 lb-ft)
(Upper

2): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:
Fast tighten the bolt of master cylinder holder bolt lower side,
due to hot starter lever provided.
• Set the brake hose end between the hose stopper, then
tighten the brake hose union bolt

3 to the specified torque.
# Brake hose union bolt: 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
• Refill brake fluid and bleed air from the brake system.

CAUTION
The seal washers should be replaced with new ones to
prevent fluid leakage.
