SECTION 12C. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
CONTENTS
This section covers descriptions and service of the
attachments for the TurfCat mower.
PREPARATION FOR REPAIR
Thoroughly clean the mower prior to disassembly and
repair procedures. Coat bare metal parts with a light
coat of oil.
The mower is exposed to water (daily washing), grass
clippings, sand, corrosive fertilizers, and foreign
objects. It may be necessary to use bearing pullers
and/or wooden blocks and hammer to free up some
parts.
When such force is required to remove parts, those
parts should be replaced rather than installed on the
machine.
1. A qualified technician should always perform
adjustments and maintenance. If proper adjust-
ment cannot be made, contact an authorized Dis-
tributor.
2. Inspect the equipment on a regular basis. Estab-
lish a maintenance schedule and keep detailed
records.
Wash unit after each use. Do not wash any portion
of the equipment while it is hot. Do not spray water
directly at bearing housings and seals. Do not use
high pressure spray or stream.
3. Repair damaged metal surfaces.
WARNING
To prevent serious injury, always disengage all
drives, lower implement to the ground, engage park-
ing brake, stop engine, and remove ignition key
before adjusting, cleaning, or repairing the equip-
ment.
WARNING
Be careful to prevent entrapment of hands and fin-
gers between moving and fixed components of the
machine.
Do not wear jewelry or loose fitting clothing when
adjusting or repairing any equipment.
NOTICE
The illustrations in the Parts Catalog can be used as
reference for disassembly and assembly of compo-
nents.
