REPAIR
Disassembly
1. Wash exterior with a suitable non-flammable sol-
vent.
2. Never pry components apart. Use a soft face ham-
mer to tap housing and shaft to separate body.
3. Scribe a line down the outside pump housing. This
will assure correct reassembly.
4. Before removing the gear set, mark mating teeth
to obtain timing for reassembly (see Figure 8F-4).
Figure 8F-4. Marking Gear Teeth
5. Disassemble the remainder of the pump as shown
in Figure 8F-1.
Inspection
1. Check parts for signs of wear, burrs, scores, nicks,
damaged or broken parts.
2. Discard all old seals and seal rings.
3. Check gear set. If there are signs of slight burring,
stone the gears to remove.
4. If gear set, housing, or cover are damaged,
replace the pump.
Reassembly
1. Install shaft seal into the flange cover.
2. Install the bushing block into the pump housing.
3. Install gear set, aligning the timing marks.
4. Install the remaining bushing block.
5. Using a light grease, install the load ring and load
backup rings to the thrust block.
6. Use a suitable bullet sleeve or wrap the shaft
splines with a poly bag to prevent damage to the
seal when installing shaft.
7. Install the pump body o-ring.
8. Install the flange cover on the pump housing.
9. Install the remaining pump housing, o-ring, and
cover.
10.Install bolts finger-tight.
11.Turn shaft by hand. Tighten bolts to 37 ft-lbs
(50 N-m).
12.Pour recommended hydraulic fluid into both inlet
and outlet ports of pump.
INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate and install a new o-ring on the imple-
ment pump.
2. Position the pump in the traction pump and secure
with the two hex-head capscrews (Figure 8F-2).
3. Remove plugs and, using the tags created during
removal, connect hydraulic hoses and tubes to the
pump fittings.
