SECTION 12D. MOWER DECK
GENERAL
The Turfcat can be equipped with six deck options,
listed on the previous page. The mower deck is
mounted on the front of the tractor and driven by a
hydraulic motor connected to the deck valve by hydrau-
lic hoses. The deck is raised and lowered using the
hydraulic lift cylinder mounted inside the steering tower.
Safety/lift chains wrapped around the lift cylinder frame
provide stability and safe suspension for lifting the
deck. Weight transfer springs provide suspension and
stability for the mower deck.

MOWER DECK INSPECTION
The mower deck should be inspected before each use.
Check the deck for cracks, dents, and damage. Inspect
the caster wheels for proper inflation, lubrication,
mobility, and secure mounting. Check safety/lift chains
for proper attachment, wear, and damage. Inspect the
weight transfer springs for stretching, wear, damage,
and secure mounting. Check the mower deck rollers for
excessive wear and damage. Check blades for proper
mounting, cracks, damage, and cutting ability.
WARNING
To prevent serious injury, always disengage all
drives, lower implement to the ground, engage park-
ing brake, stop engine, and remove ignition key
before adjusting, cleaning, or repairing the equip-
ment.
WARNING
Never open or loosen hydraulic lines under pres-
sure. Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can
have sufficient force to penetrate skin. If fluid is
injected into the skin it must be surgically removed
within a few hours by a doctor familiar with this form
of injury, or gangrene may result.
