18.Remove one bolt, nut, and flat washer on both
sides of the engine at the engine support frame.
Swing the engine support down and away from
the engine.
19.While checking for connected wires and compo-
nents, carefully remove the engine from the
machine. Be careful to support the engine prop-
erly in order to prevent damage.
20.If the engine is being replaced, some components
must be removed and installed on the new engine.
See the parts manual for additional information
and illustrations.
ENGINE INSTALLATION
Illustrations from the previous section of this manual
may be referenced for the following procedures.
1. Using an engine hoist carefully lower the engine
into the machine. Be careful to support the engine
properly in order to prevent damage.
2. Swing the engine support up and towards the
engine. Install one bolt, nut, and flat washer on
both sides of the engine at the engine support
frame.
3. Install four bolts and lock washers on both sides of
the engine at the lower rear engine supports.
4. Install the lower front engine mounting bolts.
5. Install the traction pump. See Section 8.
6. Reconnect the wiring harness to the fuel solenoid,
starter, oil sender, coolant temperature sender,
and alternator. Reattach the wiring harness and
harness hold down.
7. Install the exhaust assembly.
8. Connect the fuel supply hose from the fuel water
separator to the injection pump at the injection
pump.
9. Remove any fuel supply hose plugs and connect
the fuel supply hose from the fuel pump to the
fuel/water separator at the fuel pump.
10.Connect the throttle cable to the injection pump
and the throttle cable housing to the clamp.
11.Remove any fuel outlet hose plugs and connect
the fuel outlet hose from the fuel tank to the inline
filter.
12.Install the radiator/oil cooler assembly.
13.Connect the air cleaner assembly hoses.
14.Connect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
15.Fill the radiator according to See “Installation” on
page 13. with 50/50 water/anti-freeze mixture.
16.Fill the engine with the proper engine oil.
17.Fill the hydraulic tank with the proper hydraulic oil.
18.Install the battery and hold down clamp. Connect
the positive battery cable first, then connect the
negative cable.
19.Fill the fuel tank, and bleed the fuel system. See
the Parts and Maintenance Manual.
20.Start the engine and check for proper operation.
Allow the engine to warm to operating tempera-
ture and check for leaks. Fill the coolant reservoir
to the hot level.
