2. Using a portable filtering unit, pump the hydraulic
oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable clean
container. The tank holds 6.8 U.S. gallons (25.7
liters). If a filtering unit is not available, remove the
drain plug at the bottom of the tank and drain the
oil into a suitable container.
3. After draining, replace the hydraulic tank drain
plug.
4. Lift the engine cover to allow access to the
hydraulic oil cooler inlet and outlet hoses.
5. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the
battery.
6. Tag and disconnect the hydraulic inlet and outlet
hoses. Immediately plug the hoses and cooler
ports to prevent contamination of the hydraulic
system.
7. Allow the coolant to cool completely and remove
the radiator cap.
8. Remove the debris screen (Figure 3D-8).
9. Place a suitable container underneath the radiator
and loosen the lower radiator hose. Drain the
coolant system.
10.Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
11.Disconnect the air cleaner intake hose from the
bulkhead frame.
12.Disconnect the coolant recovery tank hose from
the radiator filler neck.
13.Remove mounting hardware from the engine fan
shroud and separate the shroud from the radiator/
oil cooler an move forward away from the radiator.
14.Remove mounting hardware securing the radiator/
oil cooler from the frame.
15.Carefully lift out the radiator/oil cooler assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully place the radiator/oil cooler onto the
frame.
2. Secure the radiator/oil cooler with mounting bolts.
3. Secure the radiator fan shroud to the radiator with
mounting bolts.
4. Remove the plugs from the inlet and outlet hoses.
Using the tags created during removal, connect
the hoses to the hydraulic oil cooler.
5. Replace the hydraulic oil filter.
6. Connect the recovery tank hose to the radiator
filler neck.
7. Connect the air cleaner air intake hose to the bulk-
head.
8. Connect both upper and lower radiator hoses.
9. Install the debris screen.
10.Fill radiator with 50/50 mixture of anti-freeze and
water.
11.Install the negative battery cable on the battery.
12.Make sure the drain plug is in the tank and fill the
hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil. The 628 Turfcat is
supplied with Jacobsen 10W30 hydraulic oil.
GreensCare 68 hydraulic oil can be used for bio-
degradable applications.
13.Start the engine and allow the engine to warm to
operating temperature and check for leaks. Fill the
coolant reservoir to the hot level.
NOTICE
Dispose of unwanted oil properly. Dumping oil in an
unsafe manner is illegal. Check with local environ-
mental officials for information on properly disposing
of oil products.
