If there is more than ½” deflection, remove the spring
and move bolt (X, Figure 12D-18) to the next hole.
Attach spring to bolt.

If necessary, loosen bolt. While holding bracket (S)
move bracket to obtain a 0 – 1/16” gap between the
rubber bumper and bracket I.
STORAGE
1. Lubricate all the fittings, then wash the mower.
2. Repair and paint damaged or exposed metal with
touch-up paint.
3. Tighten all hardware, replace worn or damaged
components. Loosen belt tension.
4. Sharpen and balance cutter blades. Apply a light
coat of rust preventive oil on sharpened edges.
5. Clean the tires thoroughly and store the mower so
that the load is off the tires. If the mower is not on
jack-stands, check the tire pressure at regular
intervals and inflate as necessary.
6. Keep the machine and all its accessories clean,
dry, and protected from the elements during stor-
age.
