Figure 12E-11. Drive Motor
1. Relieve tension on the drive belt and remove from
drive motor pulley (Figure 12E-11). Loosen set-
screw and remove pulley and key from drive
motor.
2. Tag and disconnect pressure, return and case
drain hoses from the motor. Immediately plug the
hoses and motor ports to prevent contamination of
the hydraulic system.
3. Remove two mounting bolts and nuts.
4. Remove the motor from the mower frame.
DRIVE MOTOR INSTALLATION
1. Place the drive motor in position on the mower
frame. Secure with two mounting bolts and nuts.
2. Install the key and pulley on the drive motor shaft.
3. Install the drive belt on the pulley and align the
belt with all three pulleys. Secure the pulley by
tightening the setscrew.
4. Using tags created during removal, remove plugs
and connect hoses to the drive motor.
5. Install the drive belt cover.
LUBRICATION
Lubricate grease fittings every 50 hours of operation or
more frequently when operating in extremely dusty
conditions.
1. Always clean grease fittings before and after lubri-
cating.
2. Lubricate with grease that meets or exceeds NLGI
Grade 2 specifications.
3. Apply grease with a manual grease gun and fill
slowly until grease begins to seep out or pressure
is felt. Never use compressed air guns.
4. For smooth operation of other pivot and friction
points, apply several drops of SAE 30 weight oil
every 50 hours or as required.

STORAGE
1. Lubricate all the fittings, then wash the mower.
2. Repair and paint damaged or exposed metal with
touch-up paint.
3. Tighten all hardware, replace worn or damaged
components. Loosen belt tension.
4. Sharpen and balance cutter blades. Apply a light
coat of rust preventive oil on sharpened edges.
5. Clean the tires thoroughly and store the mower so
that the load is off the tires. If the mower is not on
jack-stands, check the tire pressure at regular
intervals and inflate as necessary.
6. Keep the machine and all its accessories clean,
dry and protected from the elements during stor-
age.
