8 Press TAB to move to the lower sub-menu, then press and
hold the
RIGHT or LEFT ARROW key to move the diamond
marker to about one-third of the way between the solid box
icon on the left and the video icon on the right.
What you have just done creates a 33%-transparent background
for the page using the background color you selected. When the
marker is at the extreme left, the background is completely
opaque; when at the extreme right, the background is completely
transparent (allowing the video footage to appear, unobstructed).
Placing the marker at other locations varies the amount of trans-
parency/opacity.
9 Press
NEW LINE OK, mark both lines of text (MARK START and
MARK END), then press OUTLINE/COLOR to display the Color
menu.
10 Choose black or some other highly contrasting color from
the menu, then press NEW LINE OK.
11 With both lines of text still marked, press
OUTLINE/PATTERN
to display the Patterns menu.
12 In the top sub-menu, select the solid color option, then
press NEW LINE OK.
The preceding four steps create a solid pattern outline around the
characters in the title. The outline improves the readability of the
characters when they are superimposed atop video footage.
13 Press
UNDO to remove the text markers.
