Creating Tabular Columns
Use TAB to create columns of information on a page. The tab function
works by aligning text with the next blank space in the previous line. For
example, you can create a table of parts showing part number, descrip-
tion, and unit cost.
To create tabular columns:
1 To create column headers (such as shown above), type a
line of text with the required headings. Insert spaces
between each column header.
2 Press
NEW LINE OK to start a new line.
3 Type the first part number (12475), press
TAB to move to the
Description column, then type the description (Widget).
4 Press
TAB again to move to the Price column, type the price
(22.49), then press
NEW LINE OK to start the next line.
5 Repeat the two preceding steps as necessary to add more
lines to the table.
You might need to make small adjustments to obtain proper alignment.
For example, if a word aligns itself to the wrong blank space, you might
need to add more tabs (by pressing
TAB). You can also add and remove
spaces and blank lines to change the table appearance.
When you add a tab to a line, Personal TitleMaker automatically left-
aligns the text.
Tabs do not adjust automatically when you edit a line of text. You might
need to add tabs or spaces to properly align the material.
The line preceding the one containing the cursor always controls tab
spacing.
